Bill Rusen

Bill Rusen is the founder and principal of Arete Coaching and Consulting. He is the recently retired Chief Executive Officer of Cayuga Addiction Recovery Services located in Ithaca, NY. A native of the Scranton, PA area, Bill has worked in community behavioral and primary health care systems for over 40 years in four states stretching from Pennsylvania to Washington to New Hampshire. He obtained his graduate degree in Social Work from Marywood University, and has made professional contributions through the presentation of scholarly papers and workshop facilitation at state and national conferences. Bill has served as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Buffalo School of Social Work, TC-3 and Marywood University. Bill was an expert team member for the Institute for Health Care Design, United States Department of Health and Human Services’ Bureau of Primary Health Care. In that role, Bill trained and coached primary health care provider organizations to redesign and reengineer their health care delivery systems.

Bill and his wife, Lisa Kendall, reside in Freeville NY. Bill pursues interests in discovering his Arete, helping others discover their Arete through professional coaching, exploring the theology of Thomas Aquinas, the history of western civilization, the mythos of baseball, the poetry of William Carlos Williams, the work of painter Edward Hopper, and the many styles of 20th century American film. Bill has twin sons. Matthew is a graphic artist who resides in Pennsylvania with his wife Lauren. John is a licensed massage therapist and resides in the Fort Collins Colorado area.
